Renew your strength in the Lord

Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts...and be thankful.
– Colossians 3:15 (NIV)

How has your energy level been?

Are you taking that Centrum Silver from time to time? I have found that I just can’t do the things that I used to in the same time frame as I used to. The text in Isaiah says that God will give strength (energy) to those who hope in him.
If I continually look at the pile of ‘to do’s’ and never look back at what has been done – or how far I have come – I grow more weary! Here are some tips to renewing our strength each day.

1. Get with God every day.

When we begin to understand how big and strong and able God is, then hope automatically comes. For me, with hope comes strength. Getting with God may mean something totally different to you than it does to your neighbor. Whatever way you are comfortable, find a time to spend each day with God.

"He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak."

2. Count your blessings.

There is something very powerful and profound that happens when I simply look for the good around me. Especially during hard and stressful situations, or when I am feeling hopeless.

Colossians 3:15 says this: “Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts and be thankful.” When we focus on all the good that God is doing in and around us, we can’t help but be thankful.

3. Seize the moments today.

Every moment has a bit of heaven and eternity wrapped up in it. I think we forget how involved God wants to be in the world around us, and I know I forget how amazing and free our country is.

I have a friend who for years, no matter the day or what is happening, if you ask him, “How’s it going,” he will say without fail, “Best day of my life.”

How about you?

Prayer:
Dear Jesus, help me to look at you and how powerful and mighty you are! When I focus on your greatness, the problems around me disappear and my strength is renewed! Amen.
